This book is encyclopedic in nature and introduces the reader to the architecture and history of approximately 800 churches of Peremyshl' Eparchy beginning with the 11th and up to the 20th century.
Structures are offered within the modern borders of Ukraine. Also presented are 160 wooden and masonry churches non-existent today have special historical and artistic value.
The book is of significance to historians, architects and to all those who take a lively interest in Ukrainian culture.
Each chapter of the book represents a Deanery and begins with a map showing the locations of all churches as they existed in 1938 based on the Shematism of 1938, the last for the Eparchy of Peremyshl which was dissolved by the Soviet Union in 1946.
The photos in the book are black and white. With each photo depicted, you will find a brief history and or description of the church in Ukrainian.
The only English in the book is a complete index of all 974 photos and illustrations found in the book.
