Researching: PELNAR, WALRUCA, WALRISCU, WALRICCA FRANK, WANTRUBA, AULICK
Looking for information on Joseph John Pelnar (b. Dec. 19, 1844). Place of birth was later remembered as Luyenz or Lubenz, Bohemia and was supposed to be close to Prague. He was the son of Jacob Pelnar and Mary Walruca (Walriscu or Walricca). He immigrated from Bohemia on the ship Astronon. The port of embarkation was Bremen, arriving in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A., November 9, 1864. He traveled with Elisabeth Pelnar age 22yrs. I do not know if this was a sister, wife or some other relative. I have been unable to find any mention of his having a first wife so I am inclined to believe that Elisabeth was otherwise related to Joseph. He settled in Waukesha Co., Wisconsin, U.S.A. I also have the passenger list of the Astronon. Other families from Bohemia were Frank, Wantruba and Aulick. If anyone is interested in this passenger list I would be glad to share information. Any information about the family or the area they originated in would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
