Hi, I'm writing from my girlfriend's email address. Her name
is Olivia Yerovi. We live in Lima, Peru. Last week we had a
conversation about last names and ancestors, and she said
she's very sad because she doesn't know where her last name
(Yerovi) comes from. There are no records about it. So I
decided I would find out and surprise her with the news. I
think Yerovi used to be Jerobic or Jerobi or Jerovi or
something like that. So please, if you know something about
this name, please send me an email. hat I know is: now the
last name is Yerovi. There are only 5 such surnames here in
Peru. Her great grandfather left her a Jewish Star as a gift
when he died. However there are no records of jewish
ancestors. There are a lot of Yerovis in Ecuador. Apparently
her great grand dad emigrated to Ecuador and settled there,
and once he travelled to Peru, met a girl and had a son. Her
Grand Dad, then went back to Ecuador.

Researching: KAPEK, FISKEN
Can you help me, please? I am trying to find out any
information regarding my paternal grandfather, who died in
the flu epidemic Dec. 23, 1918, before my father was born.
We don't know much about him. This is what I know from his
death certificate: Name: Louis Kapek (spelling may have
changed); b. January 4, 1888; Birthplace: Bohemia. He may
have been an orphan when he emigrated to the US, port of
entry: unknown. Married Mary Carolyn Fisken, June 16, 1916.
My father is very anxious to find out something, anything,
about this side of his family.
