Researching: NARRETER
Could you help me? I am looking for the origin of the first name "Felizitas". Is it a common spelling in Slavic or German for the first name "Felicity"? Also, I am searching for the origin of the surname Narreter. Could you help? Thanks. (Editor's Note: "Felizitas" is certainly not a "common" name in The Czech Republic, or Slovakia, but is not unusual and is the same root as "Felicity" in that language. It is derived from the Latin "felicitas" and related to the English word, "felicitation", all of which mean " happiness", "best wishes" or "good feelings", such as in the expression, "Greetings and felicitations.")

Researching: JINDRICH, YINDRICK, KOZEL, RECH, DOUBROVA
I am searching for marriage records on Wencil (Vaclav) Jindrich, b. 9/21/1823, and his wife Barbora Kozel, b.9/1824. I believe both to be born in Czech. I want to know about parents of both as well. We believe that the name was changed to Yindrick after arrival in the USA. In addition, children and birthdates born to this marriage would be appreciated. I believe that at least one child, Joseph, was born on May 9, 1854 at Kopidla, Czech. (Editor's Note: "Jindrich" in Bohemia translates to "Henry" in the USA.) Also, I have information that John Rudolph Rech married Mary Doubrova, November 14, 1869, somewhere in Czech. John was b. 9/8/1849 and Mary was b. 1847. I would like to verify Mary's actual birthdate, locate where in Czech they came from and who their parents were.

Researching: KALISEK, LASLAVIC
All that I know about my Great Grandfather is (i) his name "Thomas Kalisek", (ii) the year in which he was born "1844" (this data from his tombstone in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), and (iii) the fact that he owned a grocery store on the Northside section of Pittsburgh, which was called "Allegheny, Pennsylvania" when he moved there. It IS possible that it wasn't he who moved to Pittsburgh from Bohemia.....he might have been born there (in Pittsburgh) and it might have been his Father who came over from Bohemia. [However, none of his earlier ancestors are buried in the family plot.] His daughter was Anna Kalisek who married Michael Laslavic in the early 1900s, and they lived on East Ohio Street initially, and then moved to Ley Street on Troy Hill. There's not much to go on here, but does anybody know anything else about Thomas Kalisek? Can anybody give me a better idea of where to start looking for information about him?

Researching: LEDERER
I am looking for my ancestors, the members of the family of Rudolf Lederer, who lived in Vodnany till the end of the 1930s. Mr Lederer was married and had two or three children in school-age. They owned a small textile factory, the Rulco, which is still existing under the name of Jitex. The present owners replied me - after very long hesitation - that they had absolutely no records on the fate of Mr Lederer. The local authorities in Vodnany have left my inqueries without any answer. I would appreciate any hints that might bring me closer to the history of this family. Thanks a lot. I am a Hungarian journalist working in Bonn, Germany.
