Researching: OPAL, OPIAL
Finding this website has been intriguing, but my problem is I don't know if I should be looking here or at the Slovakia site. My last name is Opal, but the problem is that, like many people who came into the US in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it may have been Anglo-cized because it has been suggested that the original spelling is Opial. However, I've also always been told it was of Bohemian origin. Unfortunately, I have no idea where my paternal family came from other than what was once Czechoslovakia. Any information you can offer will be greatly appreciated so that I might post on your geneology site.

Researching: CERVENY, KADRMAS
I am searching for possible Cerveny leads. My great, great grandmother, Teresa Cerveny (b. 1856-58?) was born in East Bohemia to Mr. and Mrs. Jan Cerveny. She emigrated, possibly with her parents, to southern Ukraine around 1874. Teresa married Jan N. Kadrmas (b. 17 Dec 1851) either before or after the move. The Kadrmas's emigrated to southern Ukraine at about the same time. Jan N. Kadrmas was born in Dobrikov, a small village north of Vysoke Myto. I have searched many villages in East Bohemia with no luck. Many Cerveny's lived in Borova and Oldris villages (west of Policka), but no connections. Also, the village of Dobre (east of Dobruska) had many Cerveny's, but again no connections. The parish of Chocen was another dead end. Any information would be much appreciated.
